Few questions about a Deloitte GPS offer I’m considering:
1. How permissible is remote work?
2. Can Consultants transfer offices easily?
3. What are exit ops like out of Deloitte GPS?
4. Are there opportunities to explore other practices within Deloitte or leave GPS for Strategy & Ops? Deloitte

For 4. at least there is no S&O anymore. There is now a Strategy & Analytics OP that exists for both GPS and Commercial

It ranges on the team. Some are glorified Excel development teams, but some are doing real AI development stuff. Lots of support for S&A, everyone likes the buzz words they use.

like

1. Remote work is not typical (pre-COVID) expectation is to be at client site 4/5 days a week. 2. Not easy to transfer offices since GPS is predominantly based in DC / NoVa and it's expected you live nearby to commute to clients.
3. Exit ops out of GPS? Government. Or another consulting firm that does Gov't work. There's exceptions like me cause I left before I made gov't my brand

Overall would avoid at all costs

Anyone available to review my resume/guide me through this job search? I’ve been applying places for the past 6 months and am not getting responses. Unemployment has run out and I’m starting to crumble under the pressure of bills. My experience the past 6yrs has been in smaller companies where my role was never just one thing but instead spread over multiple departments, so I’m struggling to narrow down how to convey the vast experience I do have.

I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I'm 31 and found this only because b school and post mba consulting job was/is much more challenging than anything I did before. What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)

My LWD in Wipro (my previous employer) was on 21 Aug, 2021. I was waiting to receive my outstanding due and experience certificate, as part of F&F, ever since. However, I received an email from the offboarding team today stating that my Final Settlement is on on hold due to security concerns (DLP: data leakage). How is this going to play out? And much longer will it take before my F&F process is completed and I get my outstanding due and my experience certificate? Pls advice.

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

Inspired by one of my kids' favorite books, I penned this masterpiece of an Ode to Consulting:

One senior partner all alone
Calls two managing directors on the phone
Three associate partners at the door
Bring along another four
Five senior managers come overdressed
Six managers show up with a guest
Seven senior consultants arrive in a sack
Eight associates sneak in the back
Nine analysts come to work
ALL THE CONSULTANTS GO BERSERK!!!

Ok, I'll show myself out now... 😂
