I prefer the index funds vs. Target Date. I personally go with FXAIX vs. VOO because the expenses are lower.
FXAIX is my favorite

Personally, I am planning to stay 100% equity until ten years before my estimated retirement date and glide down to a retirement allocation from there.
I would use VT or a mixture of VTI and VXUS for equity, not just the US (VTI) or US large cap (VOO).
Target date has unnecessary bonds and treasuries in it. This far out from retirement you should be in 100% equites. VTI or VOO is the right option. Ride the wave of the market. Bonds are only necessary to preserve capital like saving for a house down payment.
Im already retired and sticking with 100% equities; currently a mix of IVV/VOO and ONEQ.
I did the 4% rule my first year retired, and now taking a more flexible "guardrails" approach since my accounts are growing at multiples of my annual spend.
