Fidelity Target Date Fund or VTI/VOO for retirement fund? I’m 15 to 25 years away depending on when i make the choice to retire. Fidelity were convincing me to stick to target date but think VTI/VOO would be better option. Thoughts?

I prefer the index funds vs. Target Date. I personally go with FXAIX vs. VOO because the expenses are lower.

FXAIX is my favorite

Personally, I am planning to stay 100% equity until ten years before my estimated retirement date and glide down to a retirement allocation from there.

I would use VT or a mixture of VTI and VXUS for equity, not just the US (VTI) or US large cap (VOO).

like

Target date has unnecessary bonds and treasuries in it. This far out from retirement you should be in 100% equites. VTI or VOO is the right option. Ride the wave of the market. Bonds are only necessary to preserve capital like saving for a house down payment.

like

Im already retired and sticking with 100% equities; currently a mix of IVV/VOO and ONEQ.

I did the 4% rule my first year retired, and now taking a more flexible "guardrails" approach since my accounts are growing at multiples of my annual spend.

Been in the strat game for over a decade; I’ve realized that a strong department with clear process that is built on end to end problem solving (with time to think) is when I’m happiest vs this award show / case study grind. What are some agencies you all work or have worked at, that value strategy as a department and not a creative case study farm? Looking to figure out what’s next.

I’m considering building up my I bonds to eventually replace my 6 month expenses emergency savings account. Any downsides I’m not considering? If I slowly ramp up and ladder, I can partially withdraw any amount if I need to after a year. Even with lower inflation in the future, I’m guessing it’s going to beat a savings account yield. Thoughts?

Scores consider the number of accounts that are paid as agreed. Your score was impacted because the number of these accounts is too low, or because you've missed payments recently on some of your accounts.

Received a letter from Wells Fargo today. They are offering a refinance of fixed 30 year mortgage at 3.5%. I have no idea how they can do this judging by today’s interest rates. Feeling grateful & proud as I reached my goal ($50K by 25) 5 months early. But I can’t help feeling a bit overwhelmed. In the lifelong scheme of things, $50K doesn’t seem like much. I worked really hard and sacrificed a lot (including mental health) to get to this but it seems a little tiring knowing I still have so long to go. I recently moved out and in with my BF so my expenses are split, but nonetheless they are still expenses. Any tips on continuing this journey and keeping the drive?

What do most people invest in for their Roth IRA portfolio? I’ve heard target funds and ETF’s..which one is better?

I consolidated grad loans in ‘15, kept federal separate from private (w SoFi @6.75%). Can I refinance w SoFi or w Earnest? Should I combine the federal and lose the protections for better %?

My monthly salary is around $6.4k after-tax. Living in NYC. Do you think it’s reasonable that I pay:
- about $1.5k on rent
- about $500 on utilities and subscriptions
- about $900 on student loan
- about $2k on food and etc.
My saving goals is around $3k so been trying to adjust my monthly spending.
