Fidelity Target Date Fund or VTI/VOO for retirement fund? I’m 15 to 25 years away depending on when i make the choice to retire. Fidelity were convincing me to stick to target date but think VTI/VOO would be better option. Thoughts?

I’m considering building up my I bonds to eventually replace my 6 month expenses emergency savings account. Any downsides I’m not considering? If I slowly ramp up and ladder, I can partially withdraw any amount if I need to after a year. Even with lower inflation in the future, I’m guessing it’s going to beat a savings account yield. Single and childless but would like kids. High income and maxing out all tax advantaged accounts I can but was thinking of starting a 529 in my own name to be transferred to future kids. If I don’t have kids maybe transfer it to my nephew. Thoughts, pros, cons?

I’m curious why more non-US citizens interested in FIRE don’t go live in a no/low tax jurisdiction even for a few years e.g. Dubai, some Caribbean islands. I get that some people will have family circumstances (e.g. elderly parents to look after) so it won’t be possible for them, but for a significant proportion it will be an option

My monthly salary is around $6.4k after-tax. Living in NYC. Do you think it’s reasonable that I pay:
- about $1.5k on rent
- about $500 on utilities and subscriptions
- about $900 on student loan
- about $2k on food and etc.
My saving goals is around $3k so been trying to adjust my monthly spending.
