Maybe I don't see the perks for diamond being that much better than platinum. I'd rather just have them rollover and already be close to gold for the following year. #playingitsafe

Diamond isn't much different at all besides automatic club access and never sitting in economy.. rolling over the miles gives you a better chance to make it the following year and not spending any of your own money

If you are looking for a mileage run, looks for runs that are under 10 cents per mqm. Obviously the lower the better, but that's a good guide. Also worth looking for good deals in first class as you get the mqm boost, but only if you buy the first class fare. Check out google.com/flights - you can enter in your airport and use the 'explore' function to find cheap fares. Once you find a destination you want, use the search function to find the best dates. Look for same day or next day returns. You can also check out the ITA matrix, but this requires a bit more research to understand
