Final round with Facebook coming up but I'm worried about jumping in the midst of this instability in the market. Is this a big risk? Happy in my current role-good salary, project, wlb, & job security

I think these people are right to say that’s a lot of trust to put in your team, but I also think they are wrong to assume the alternative will be better, that Facebook will treat you well. You’re right there is unknowns in the new job too in terms of quality of team, job security, WLB, etc. All of it is unknown but you have to evaluate which you think will be the better solution - in total- based on what you know. Don’t place too high a risk coefficient on the “unknowns” but you should certainly consider all info in assumptions and unknowns and simply compre total package to total package.

In same boat with smaller company. Wondering too

I am in the same boat! My main worry is that I won’t do as well in my job given all the virus nonsense, might as well stick it out in consulting and transition into tech once the dust has settled.

Working from home so harder for me to influence people, potential layoffs and Econ downturns, all in addition to all the existing hurdles of starting a new job.

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

So I've been at my job for 5+ years as a data analyst/back office support team. I made my way up into making a little over $40k. I've been WFH the past 2 yrs and overtime more than half my team has now been pulled out to work for a diff department which resulted in me taking 90% of our daily tasks to handle. I'm at a point where the salary I'm getting is disrespectfully low for all the work I do. Should I ask for a raise? And if so, how do I go about asking without sounding greedy.

I also enjoy working with others frequently and finding a solution together, instead of having individual workstreams. I can hold my own in front of a crowd as long as I’m confident in...
