Hi. I'm a final year btech student, and I recently got an offer from PwC India for the post of Sr. Analyst, with the package of 4.5lpa fixed + some yearly performance bonus. How should I expect me to be my career graph in pwc? Promotions, work culture, work life balance, basically any kind of insight will be appreciated.
THANKS A TON, IN ADVANCE.

Should have had this conversation in the first 20 minutes of the first phone screen. It’s is very strange you both risked wasting each other’s time.
What has your research indicated is the pay range for the role? What you you actually require to jump? Add 20% to either of those numbers.

Is it AT&T? Ask for the moon 🌝
Why do you say this about AT&T?
Answer should always be: "I dont have specific salary expectations because I dont select jobs based entirely on a paycheck. I choose companies where I can best apply my skills and experience to make the most impact. When I find that type of fit, the compensation will align with whatever the company feels I contribute"
It makes you look magnanimous and company-oriented but most importantly it avoids throwing out a number. NEVER be the first to throw out a number. If it's too low you lose and if it's too high you lose. Let the company start and you negotiate up from there because the first number will always be their floor not their ceiling.

Anchoring may/may not have a psychological benefit. Mostly, I think it provides a sampling benefit. The jobs you don’t want instantly go away.
No, not to tech. There are thousands of companies outside of FAANG.
Big 4 tends to pay competitively, in general. Corp may be strenched to match it for the same level or experience level in some cases. I assume the role will be a step up/promotion. Generally you will be looking for 20+% bump to make the move worth it. I'd research salary info for the position on Glassdoor and adjust it for your location. Also be realistic and try not to overshoot or price youself out in this maket unless your skill is in demand and you can generate other offers in a short order. They should have a budget for the role in mind when they start interviewing. Just be aware that there is a downward presure on comp given the maket and number of folks who are out of work. The salary expectation is generally first thing HR will hit on as part of the initial sceen. Not sure why they did not ask for it. I assume they have a ballpak number and can afford to hire you. I'd say you are really in a good position and have a good leverage point being that far in the interview process. Just have a number in mind and present a range instead. Ideally you want land in the upper range or at a mid-point at least. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
