I’m in same position as OP starting to think jumping ship is the better option
Me too, which really sucks because I actually do enjoy my team and my project
Are you on a long term engagement? If you are being bounced around on projects, you’re still at the stage where you can set more realistic expectations about your work based on how much effort you put in. Take this as an opportunity to learn to say no a bit more and to dial back your effort when it’s causing you to burn out.
Just jumped and made 81 percent TC bump as a senior 1. There are jobs out there that will pay what you’re worth
Find justification and push for early promote. If not, then shop around and see if you can get that promote plus bump by switching firms. Jumping around in the first two years isn’t looked upon as well as jumping around later on because they’ve invested a bunch of time training you up to be effective. That being said, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do if the company refuses to acknowledge when you’re head and shoulders about peers.
Jump. Market is still pretty hot. Not sure what you TC is but you could definitely get higher in todays market with better WLB.
Given that this is your first year, you could also take this is a huge learning experience. You’re learning more than others (I’d assume). And you should work with your manager to translate this work into fast-track. I wouldn’t necessarily leave a company because I have a lot of responsibility in the first year.
This. I voluntarily took on extra responsibility in my first few years, knowing I wouldn’t get paid extra. The extra work pays off in spades down the road.
Get promoted then jump, it gives you a better negotiating position for comp. I was able to go from 82k to 130k in base pay by waiting
Industry
Delegate more, switch projects, what examples do you have of getting more responsibility?
I’m in the same position here. Have spoken to appropriate people to make sure they’re aware of how much work/responsibilities I have. I’ve begun my case for an early promotion and began compensation talks early as well. Based on these outcomes I’ll decide whether or not it makes sense to look for a competing offer
What examples are you giving for increased responsibilities? and who are you beginning compensation talks with?
Jump
Jump bro. Guarantee you can finesse a pay bump higher than senior
How did you end up with more responsibilities? Do you think this would be an issue with where you go next?
I would say apply and see how it goes. Maybe you can leverage that offer to bump your pay
I think you would be able to jump ship with a solid year, especially if you have quantifiable achievement
Depends, what are the chances of you being promoted. Switch if they are less than 80%.
