One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). So my work has unlimited PTO -global company. I'm based in uk and line manager is in USA. he said I'm taking to much time off and has brought it up with upper management. How do you tell if your managing partner is invested in your success? I feel like my managing partner couldn’t care less about my development, career, or success. They hardly ever speak to me and are not really doing anything to show me the ropes in a new practice area I undertook for this job. I am not in a position to leave due to past short stints, and things are not horrible, just want to tackle this feeling of abandonment.

I have recently joined an organization as a backend developer but after joining they are putting me in a fullstack role because I had some experience with React.
I am open to fullstack role but my interests is more towards backend.
But I am concerned that I would be put into frontend only and a I would not be given backend work or else it could be 20-80(B&F).
