FYI - some companies will compensate for your education. I would ask before spending money out of your own pocket
I feel like getting your P&C license would be pointless for underwriting
I do not have any designations, just a little over a year of BI claim handling (T2/3). I really want to make the move to underwriting as soon as possible, and I plan to pursue my CPCU, but I’m wondering if I can get my foot in the door in the underwriting department before I receive the designation. My plan was to have State Farm pay for it, but I don’t want to be locked into State Farm if I can’t get into the underwriting department there. Thoughts?
I am working on my CPCU while working in sales. Hoping the designation will help me springboard into UW.
