For anyone whose taken a CPA exam recently, would you say the actual exam is easier than Becker Professional Education Simulated Exams? Becker says 50% on SEs means you are exam day ready, but there it no way you are passing with 50% on the real exam. Is the real exam really supposed to be that much easier? I am taking REG in a couple of days and i’m very curious since I haven’t gotten 75% on the SEs.

What’s your advise for someone looking to get into soft IP litigation (not an engineering / science major) but have been working in L&E for 3 years now. I want to make the move, but feel like my background makes firms not want me. I’ve applied to a few places but don’t get an interview. I know my litigation skills are top notch — so I don’t know what to do. I started branching out to orgs to network , but any other ideas?

This is twice now in back to back weeks my boss has asked me where the disconnect was in our communications because I didn’t deliver on what “was asked”, even though I know damn well what was asked and what was done were the same thing. I’m not sure if he’s changing the meaning or isn’t communicating what he’s envisioning or what but it’s embarrassing to be called out like that, and to have people think you’re the dumb 23 year old.

I have been offered a position at a non-US B4 with a 2 year path to partner. I know one of the partners at the local firm and have the support of the regional service line lead, and am bringing a specialized skill set they are trying to open a new business around. The KPIs seem achievable and I’ll be in charm school to help build support within that timeline. Most of me thinks a 2 year path under these circumstances realistic but my inner skeptic is jaded. Anything I might have missed?

For me the hardest part of cpa, that i am used to having a study buddy (i can study for hours and yet i wont lose focus) and i hate studying alone (i get easily distracted)

Endless anxiety and refreshing the candidate portal waiting on score release for my last test.

Just took FAR for the fourth time today 😂 LOTS of not for profit questions and even sims were not for profit!!!!! Definitely more than 5-15% Becker said!!! I got like 60% was based on NFP!
