Any PA firms offer part time jobs? I want to go back to grad school next year but I need a part time job. I’m currently at PwC (I’m aware of PwC’s FWA but I’m not interested in that).

Deloitte is hiring part time roles, it’s a consistent 40 hour work week

funnylike

We are also doing seasonal hiring at Deloitte for peak busy season times. You could ask your recruiter if it’s possible to convert your offer to a seasonal role (up to 40 hrs/week but some do less).

I know BT offers part time…but in this market I can’t think of any reason why a firm wouldn’t accommodate a part time schedule

like

Curious - why don't you want to do FWA? Sounds like there's a catch?

like

If it’s not respected, it sounds like you’ll let it be disrespected. You get agreement from HC, RL and others, so you’ll have to have a backbone to stand up for yourself. I have team members on FWA and we respect the arrangement we agreed to. If you still don’t like that opportunity, you can do a talent Exchange (ie contractor), but I’ve noticed most people come in for certain projects full time rather than longer duration part time. I’m sure you could have it set up the way you want, but it’s less attractive in my experience.

like

Judging from your posts - wherever you go you may have trouble finding your lower hours being respected. It's up to you to set your boundaries and stick to them. I'd work on that as well/first before you find a Company who offers part time hours.

A rose by any other name

I am part time at CLA now. Started as full time. Then dropped to FWA. Switched to part time in 2020 and will retire fully in the next couple of years hopefully.

BDO has formal flex plans for this reason.

We had "full time" interns who were still going to school and just ditching us multiple days a week for "class." Maybe try that route.

Withum does alternative work arrangements. DM me if you’re interested

Look into CLA - depending on your experience, there are some fantastic true part-time roles in the firm.

I recently bought my 1st home in TX. I want to get into real estate and eventually own/rent out multiple homes. Are there any good recommendations/tips on books/articles/websites that others have used to get started?

I've read about HELOC and cash out refinance to get a 2nd home but articles are so scattered that it gets confusing which is better in terms of tax benefits and immediate costs, etc. Anything others have found helpful that summarized how to get started would be great!

Anything before that was grad school and I haven’t kept in contact with any professors from over five years ago. What should I do? 😕
