Depends if you want to look like you know what you’re doing or *actually* know what you’re doing. Certs are just alphabet soup. Sure some people want to see them but there are plenty of unqualified people that took a test and passed vs people that actually know what’s they’re doing but never bothered getting a piece of paper
CAP, Security+, AWS Security. I don’t work in cyber by a friend does has has all 3 including the CISSP
Depends on what you want to do.
Depends on what you want to do in Cyber. CISSP is a good baseline, then depending on what you want to do there are domain specific certs. Technical (non-Security) certs like CCNA could also help, depending on the area you want to go into.
Privacy is a hot area. CIPP/US and /E aren’t too difficult to get.
They, alone, aren’t going to make you a real privacy professional though. There’s a mindset shift from infosec as well.
CISSP is a good broad baseline. CISA, CISM, CIPP if you focus on those general areas. Other much more specialized certs are available if needed.
Some of the best security folks I know don’t care about certs. Personally CISSP has been the only one that’s actually mattered.
CIPP is not longer a recommend and expensible cert
If you can get someone to pay for them, consider the SANS certifications (most begin with G-).
