I wasn’t sure which bowl to solicit advice from so hoping to catch a bite here. I’m currently in ID. Of course, I want OUT! My interests are L&E and corporate. My options are 1) wait it out where I am in hopes to switch to L&E or 2) in house oil and gas industry transactional work. What would you do and why? I figured this bowl being specific to Texas would understand importance of oil and gas industry.

Currently being offered income partner at KPMG or director at Deloitte. I prefer Deloitte but they won’t budge to partner at this point. What would you do partners? Any advice?

What was the journey like?

I have worked in the Instrumentation & Controls field for many years. Although the money is good I wanted to transition into something a bit more technical. I graduated last year with a Masters degree in Software Development from Boston University. This is a totally new transition for me in the work force however wanted to utilize my graduate degree. It's been a year since graduation and I am a bit rusty with my programming skills. Does anyone have any suggestions or opportunities for me?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

been in industry (small companies) for 5 years with an active CPA. Wanted to get in SEC reporting roles but almost every company requires 2-year public accounting exp. Now applying for public accounting firms entry level positions but almost all firms HR asked if I had ever worked in firms. Got rejection emails from firms all the time. Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

Considering a career change as a second year audit staff who is burnt out and overwhelmed in public accounting. For those who have left the big4, would you recommend moving to a smaller regional firm or going into industry?
