Exit consulting to the military?

After 6 years?? I think that’s an unconventional exit among this set for a reason.

He seems to enjoy, probably hit or miss. He's also been able to change career fields twice so far based on his interests.
I don’t think the pay is that great… there are 9-4 government jobs that pay way more than that.
City government has interesting moderate stress jobs that pass $100k. Also, depending on your LOE not that hard to snag a federal job.
I left the Air Force to go into consulting and now work at a f100. Trust me you don’t want to go in the opposite direction…. I left the AF making 90k and I now make 600k. The retirement is nice, but that requires 20 years of moving around, dealing with incompetence, and not having the money to spend while you are young.
In the government consulting world this is called regression. There are some neat perks in the military, but I’d agree this approach is unconventional for a good reason.
