I’ve been a paralegal for about 30 years in private law firmS. As I get older, I feel like it’s time for a semi-career change. Either an office manager position or perhaps a corporate position where I can travel a little since my kids are grown and I’m an empty-nester. Has anyone made this type of transition? Advise welcome. I have not been on a project for over 3 months. Since I joined, I have been put in training. The training got extended by a month and now it's close to 4 months since I joined and without a project.

I have an offer from a energy trading firm in their traded risk tech team. Its a good offer (8 YOE), 85k+20%+good benefits.. I also received an offer from EY's traded risk quantitative advisory. They proposed a pretty low-ball offer, which I am trying to negotiate. I am sure it will still be less than the other. From career progression pov, what do u think about future prospects of role at EY, I am inclined to take EY's offer.

I've got offer from EPAM System and Fiserv. Which one to join in terms of management, appraisal/hikes, benefits and growth? Both are offering similar compensation.

I have a business idea in the VR/AR space utilizing AI. However, I lack skill sets to evaluate viability or to create an MVP. Neither do I have a network to tap into.

My plan is taking classes to deepen my knowledge while joining and actively participating in communities to find collaborators.

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬
