Any other MDs here? Are you preparing for industry exits or the long haul in consulting? I genuinely love this industry so far an am curious how much of my background will actually be useful after SA.

Hi there im.an md MBA just starting my career in consulting. Love the industry and role but am looking for bigger challenges. What are some exit options for me? I have a cumulative of 3.5 years of industry experience, 3 years of clinical experience and 1 year of research experience.

Not sure yet if consulting will be the right long term path but I suppose statistically most people leave so I will eventually have to look at other opportunities. I'm also curious what else people have done as an exit.

I have a return offer from a big 4! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience as an intern and have no complaints. Would love to go back.

However, a bit confused if I should try and recruit with MBB’s or if I should accept the big 4 offer already and take the sign on bonus?

Would it be a blunder to NOT try recruiting with MBB’s ? Besides the monetary aspect, what are the other things I’d have to think about?

Next year, there will be an important deadline for the project I'm working on and my resignation could be critical for the team, how would you deal with it?

In talks with A&M to come over to their TAG practice from EY FDD as senior associate. Base salary is very competitive on top of the alluring "bonus" structure. 2 questions:

1. Do they normally offer sign on bonuses?
2. Is their any disadvantage between A&M FDD compared to B4 FDD in terms of exit ops down the road? Trying to look 5 years down the line

Would appreciate any insight!

A friend is considering deferring an offer (stem PhD) for 1 year straight out of undergrad to work in NY, either in a research institution or a biotech. She does not have any real work experience outside of her lab (3 years) and an adjacent internship. Another factor is she is just generally feeling burnt out on school after the last few years.
To what extent did you find that a year or two of work impacts prospects coming out of PhD? How might a year off from school impact her PhD work itself?
