I was contacted by an Amazon recruiter for a remote Sr. Program Manager role. I took and passed the assessment and was moved to the hiring manager round which was scheduled for tomorrow. I got an email tonight saying that the Director of the group decided that the person must be in Seattle. I am in Austin, which is not an option. I’m disappointed! The recruiter will let me know if any remote roles come up but in the mean time, does anyone have any remote Amazon roles that they’d refer me to?

Right….?
I share an office with my SO. We have a counter that the other goes to if we have meetings at the same time. If one of us is presenting and the other is just listening to a meeting, noise cancelling headphones are a game changer.
I’d just suggest trying to keep things as fair as possible. If you have space, put the second desk in the living room and figure it out. We just didn’t have space for that in the common area.
Oh same! We have desks in the middle and each of our backs are to a different wall. Works well IMO

I offered to pay more than her and I won the bidding war
She works from the bed (??!) in master bedroom; sometimes comes into the office/guest room and works from the bed we have in there lol.
If we have meetings at the same time one will leave fher if we’re in office, me if I’ve decided to hang out in bedroom)
Alternate days or morning/evening. Typically driven by whoever has the most important meeting getting the office, and the other getting the dining table and dog.

I demanded it. Also I have more conference calls so it makes sense for me to have a room with a door.
