Hello 🐠 I wanted to know why interview get cancelled. I had total 04 rounds of interview at Morgan Stanley. And 02 rounds were planned. Today I received mail that your 02 rounds are cancelled and HR will contact you. Whats the meaning of this? Am I rejected again...?

Very few agencies are hiring people fresh out of school. They are even not really hiring many mid levels. Layoffs of staff at all levels in many shops. Hard time to look for a job
Junior employees weren’t being hired much lately and are now being replaced by AI.
Companies don’t want to make the time and money investment to train juniors. I’ve actually heard coworkers refer to AI as “junior level employees” in meetings. That’s genuinely the perception now.
Agree with all of the comments here. I also want to add that most positions in this industry (especially at the entry level) are obtained through networking, not cold applying.
I’d recommend you focus your energy on networking with strategists on LinkedIn. Just DM them saying you’re trying to break into the industry and would love to hear more about their path, and ask if they’d be open to a quick 30-minute call. If you do that consistently over the next year, you might be surprised what opens up.

Breaking into strategy as a junior is tough right now. There aren’t many internships outside of summer (or many at all tbh), and agencies usually prioritize previous experience over digital courses. Since your background is in graphic design, you’ll need to show that you can handle the research and rigor strategy requires, and that you have a clear point of view.
Make sure your Behance portfolio includes the thinking behind the work. Strategy isn’t just about a cool idea, it’s about the insight that led to it. What makes your thinking interesting or different? I’ve seen a few strategy books shared in this bowl that could be helpful for understanding how strategists frame their ideas.
Depending on where you’re located, it might be easier to start at a smaller shop in art direction or account management. From there, you can build relationships with the strat team and try to get involved with projects. After a few years of experience, you’ll be in a better position to move into a mid-level strategy role.
