Tricky. The F stopped production a number of years ago, I think…? RR still going or at least to last year so newer tech. Probably more after-market accessories for the touring.
I’d say go sit on them both and choose what suits YOUR body. We choose bikes with the heart, not the head — but best to want the bike that best suits not the idea but you and your purposes.
Yeah I found a decently priced F from 2008.
Thanks for the suggestion, will swing by leg over both
Have not ridden a 600F, but did a few hours on a 500f. Really good bike, more than enough motor for about any use. I put a co-worker on a 500x and he still has it.
The RR is going to be a different beast. Agree that a recent gen r6 is going to have better electronics as the CBR hasn’t seen much in updates.
For context I owned a Ninja300 and a K1300S at the same time. Both with heated grips. One for the city commute, one for riding from NYC to LA when I get bored.
What are you riding now?
Lots of core work to prep for a trip like that. It was worth it!!!
I had two 08’ cbr600rr’s. One for the track and one for the street. Phenomenal machines. Wouldn’t want to tour on one though 🤣.
Thought I responded to this … you can totally do 8 hours. I would do mountain runs from Charlotte to the Blue Ridge Parkway which were probably 6-8 hour days. I was usually pretty beat at the end of them. Getting a touring windscreen for my CBR helped a lot
