Leaving Las Vegas

Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

Your going to need a lot more than 3500/month…in good school districts 3/2 <2k square feet within 30 min drive of apple are $1.8- 3M. Not as familiar with the rental market but given purchase dynamics I’d assume it runs much higher. Welcome to the Bay Area.

Yeah this budget is not realistic...
Current mortgage is $3500/month for reference but definitely have some room to increase that dollar amount in terms of a rental budget now. TC when we purchased then was around $200k base but now we’re up to $300k combined.
I rented in Palo Alto about 6-7 years ago in a pretty old house for the school locations, and even then it was ~$4500 a month. Reckon it’s higher now
Cupertino has good schools, check the school district boundary map because there are some non Cupertino address homes that get Cupertino schools. Also consider Los Gatos, Campbell school district (more affordable). Closer to sf you can consider pockets of mountain view. San Carlos, Belmont, Burlingame, Millbrae have decent schools too. San Mateo not so much, the high school is good but the elementary/middle is not - based on friends I have who are raising their kids there and actively trying to move to Belmont/Burlingame/San Carlos. Best of luck, there's a lot to like here.
Yep op, you'll get more bang for your buck as far as space goes. But the commute to Cupertino will suck. You can try renting in Fremont and trying the commute for a few months and see if it's tolerable (at least 2 hrs per day commuting).
