General hiring thread based on market sentiment. It seems like most firms are starting to hire again after a 3 year drought. Even with the back drop of AI doomsday, it’s encouraging to see and I view is as a strong macro indicator for economic activity. Normally hiring is based on util and need, however, why do you think we are seeing this uptick? Do you think it’s short term or is the need for consultants actually growing with AI usage?

Hello everyone, I'm a cs grad student graduating in may making a career transition from mechanical eng to cs. I had an internship but its been hard to find a fulltime dev role. I was thinking of taking a lower position at some company and working myself up maybe BI to DA. I would like to work as a dev but a lot of the small companies are offering salaries significantly under 100 for jr dev roles. Any thoughts?

This is for a guidewire role.
Which is a better offer? What would be a good option for growth wrt role, salary etc.
Also, PWC claims to offer variable based on their fixed CTC based on the ratings.. is this true ? How much is the avg percentage given?

Attended 5 rounds-- 1 coding, 2 technical, 1 managerial, 1 hr. Now after 2 months telling me I'm the selected one, but offering me just 20% hike and same grade
