Generally, marketers are more in touch with pop culture and trends because they have to be. I dressed a bit more fashionable than “business casual” to meet with some internal folks this week and had a thought:

Is it a good sign if your marketer is in touch with trends and wears big brands?

Would would a senior product manager do over and beyond a product manager. We don’t have any seniors at my startup and I’m trying to figure out what I need to do/achieve to get promoted. Any advice would be much appreciated.

With product design questions, I struggle to identify user groups. Once I do everything starts flowing and I’m confident. But the initial identification of user groups is something I find challenging. What’s your go-to way of doing this? For example, the question “design a podcasting app for truck drivers.” What types of truck drivers can I select so that I can prioritize a user group to focus on and begin identification of pain points and solutions?

I'm a marketer and I'm having a hard time getting my clients to listen to me.

I have been in marketing for 10 years now. I've worked with hundreds of clients and have been able to increase their sales by over $1 million each year.

But every time I go into a meeting with a new client, they ignore everything I say. They just want to talk about their product. They don't seem interested in learning how to market it better.

How many meetings a week do you find necessary when there aren't any special launches and/or campaigns?

Wondering if anyone can share the approximate timeline after applying to Target Corp. to hearing something from them. I started at a new company 2 months ago and while I’m really enjoying my job so far, I’m having a hard time gauging whether or not I’m doing a “good job.” My role seems to be always evolving, which is fine and I actually enjoy being a support to the greater marketing team, but I feel like I need better defined targets to make sure I’m meeting expectations.
