Hi, I am new to Canada and currently living in Vancouver, BC. I was looking for opportunities in the Financial Services industry in the Metro Vancouver Area. I have about 3 years of experience in the Banking/Financial Services and HealthTech industry and worked alongside IBM and PwC in developing and implementing cutting-edge FinTech products for business clients of a Financial Institution and led the Finance and data science team at a Health tech startup. Let me know if anyone can help me.

Any tips and experiences interviewing in this region are also welcome - and highly appreciated! :)

Some of the best social media marketers I worked with did not have personal social media accounts.
Oh wow that’s very interesting!!
If you care more about appearances rather than what you can actually bring to the table sure.... never once have I gone "dang this guy is really fashionable....I trust him" if anything dressing big name brands to be flashy shows me your materialistic more than anything else
Pro
Brands and logos ≠ fashionable. I'd lean towards its more of poor taste to be flashing big logos at work.
I enjoy being stylish and showing my personality in my fits but I try and keep it very minimal to the logos.. like 1 branded item like shoes or belt, never wearing multiple branded items at once. I dress the way I do to look nice and because I love fashion (not logos) but I hope no one is trying to measure my competence by what I wear.
Agree! Wear your personal brand!
Pro
I wear IYKYK luxury pieces and most people don’t know.
I love the quiet luxury pieces!
Ultimately it doesn’t matter, the best product marketer I’ve ever worked with had zero fashion sense and that’s ok. I guess what I’m getting at is sometimes wearing flashy brands in the office is frowned upon, but would you not want marketing to embrace the flashiness?
Think Katheryn Hahn’s character in The Studio. Great example imo.
