My wife started as an M at Accenture earlier this year coming from industry. I’ve never worked at Accenture or any b4, but I had to explain to her how up or out works. She also didn’t know that she came in with 24 months at level and what that meant. Really surprised none of this was communicated during hiring or by her manager.

What skills/experience does one need to get hired as a Deloitte manager?
Really appreciate the responses, helps me have a better idea of what I might be getting myself into.

YOE? Skill set (technical vs functional?)
Def over 100! I have 4-5 YOE, PMP, data analysis background and no clearance and make 110 at AFS
You could probably shoot for 130-170 depending on wlb balance of the firm. Tbh it's really, really, really not worth it even if/unless you can get closer to 190. Government benefits are really that much better than contractor. You're far better off making a play for 14.
190?! I would quit my GS13 in an instant if I got an offer for 170... even if it means I have to work 60+ hour weeks. I guess I value money now versus money later.
If that's the case you should go contractor. You've done it before so you should know the game, warts and all. If you have the right skill set you could probably get an A offer at Booz 20-40% above your current gov salary. IMHO Booz is far and away the best DoD contractor and/but I have seen retired 0-6's currently making $145k try very hard, unsuccessfully to get a gs12 target 14 and others with far higher salaries and same stats unsuccessfully try to get a 14. So be careful what you wish for.
Solid points... things to consider, especially that last part. Thanks!
I left as a GS-13 with 4 YOE for contacting. I went from around $105k to $120k. Two years later I'm around $155k. I'm happy with my choice. Generally I work 45 hour weeks and enjoy my team and like the work way more than when I was a Fed.
I was growing stagnant. The GS world does not afford technical folks the ability to keep there skills sharp. That was enough reason for me to leave. My field (DS), requires staying on top of technology. Can't do that as a Fed.
Probably like 65k-90k range for an analyst/senior analyst
Got it, I would say you’ll end up at 120, but you should ask for 140
