Got a referral to PwC from a friend for a experienced audit associate position in a sector I am interested in that I can’t get into at my current firm and am waiting to hear back. Currently an A1 about to be an A2 at another big 4 and already have the CPA passed. After some thought I think I would be much more interested in the CMAAS group from my research. If I get the interview, would it be bad to tell the recruiter this and what are the chances of it working out?

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

Fighting Salary Compression

I have 15+ years vesting in current company/ position, 25 years over all. I love my job!
But for the past 3 years I’m told that my yearly annual increases will be decreased due to reaching a salary ceiling. 2% rate increases barely kept pace with rate of living, especially after this years 8-12% inflation increase. Also, new employees are now being hired at a higher rate.

Anyone else experience this issue? How and what is the best course of action to address?

Potential exit ops for Real Estate Asset Managers

I’m in talks with management about being a candidate for a new position, Project Manager. This would be a promotion for me; however, a member of my team indicated the company may not want to increase compensation for this role even though I would have more responsibilities. It was even stated that “They may even want to fire people who asked for more money.” I am staggered. Do you advice for me? Should I look elsewhere? Any referrals? How does one get 3-5 years of experience in (insert area of law) for the “entry-level job” without being in (insert area of the law that one is applying for)?

Had call with the lawyers in my firm and they want to approach filing my position in I-140 to the next level (according to the course of job and levels I would be promoted in a year from current position is what they said) and that is when the petition would be filed with USCIS (~1 year from now per their timeline). Question, how do you equate Delta miles to dollars? Basically the sitch is I booked flights for BFF and I; bc they were so cheap (21k r/t each), and I said I’d cover it/no payment needed. She now needs to change the return leg (I will keep original) to go to an event I am not going to. But changing it is an additional 18.5k miles. That’s a lot total for a domestic trip.
