I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?
I work in m&a mostly doing PMI, divestiture work, and ODD. Any type of role I could move into FAANG at? Know Corp dev is usually for bankers or MBB folks

Anyone in the community working at Alvarez and Marsal in London who would be open to chat and maybe referral?
Currently a manager at UK Big4 in AAS/FAAS/CMAAS. Don’t mind the technical side of the house, but really enjoy the deals and high data side of the jobs when working with FDD. Based on the business, TAG might be the ‘easiest’ to transfer most of my skills, but open for insights from the other service lines.
Hi all, looking to career pivot from retail to talent acquisition/recruiting. Trying to make myself stand out to make up for my lack of experience. Some roles I am interested in prefer PHR or SHRM certifications. Would it be worth it to pursue a certification to land a position? Thank you
Fighting Salary Compression
I have 15+ years vesting in current company/ position, 25 years over all. I love my job!
But for the past 3 years I’m told that my yearly annual increases will be decreased due to reaching a salary ceiling. 2% rate increases barely kept pace with rate of living, especially after this years 8-12% inflation increase. Also, new employees are now being hired at a higher rate.
Anyone else experience this issue? How and what is the best course of action to address?
Hi.. i was offered A2 level, 19LPA for 4.8 yoe & cloud devops tech stack.

Has anyone who’s interviewed with Google BizOps struggled with 1 of the 2 case interviews and still made it through to the second round? Gonna be a long seven days to wait for a response.
I’m in talks with management about being a candidate for a new position, Project Manager. This would be a promotion for me; however, a member of my team indicated the company may not want to increase compensation for this role even though I would have more responsibilities. It was even stated that “They may even want to fire people who asked for more money.” I am staggered. Do you advice for me? Should I look elsewhere? Any referrals? Any insight/assistance appreciated.
How does one get 3-5 years of experience in (insert area of law) for the “entry-level job” without being in (insert area of the law that one is applying for)?
Had call with the lawyers in my firm and they want to approach filing my position in I-140 to the next level (according to the course of job and levels I would be promoted in a year from current position is what they said) and that is when the petition would be filed with USCIS (~1 year from now per their timeline). Has anyone been in a similar place?
I am working in TCS as a system engineer. My ctc is 4.33 LPA. I have resigned from my position and hold an offer of 9 LPA for IBM. My last working day is 7th oct and TCS also trying to retain me with a matching offer. Can someone suggest which one should I go after.

Tips on managing a team who are not self sufficient:
I inherited a team to manage and it’s been a struggle. The team seems used to doing the bare minimum, and are quick to point out issues without taking initiative to tackle these issues, as the role requires. Does anyone have any tips or resources that have helped in the past? This might be a “coach up or coach out” type of situation and I’m getting desperate. Thanks in advance!
I am on a career break looking for domain transition into Analytics. More than one year I am not having job. My previous experience was of 1 year and 9 months in Content Engineering not experience of Analytics. Please help me.

That BK tweet has been dynamite for the LinkedInfluencer crowd. Sure hope they don’t run out of hashtags!
Question, how do you equate Delta miles to dollars? Basically the sitch is I booked flights for BFF and I; bc they were so cheap (21k r/t each), and I said I’d cover it/no payment needed. She now needs to change the return leg (I will keep original) to go to an event I am not going to. But changing it is an additional 18.5k miles. That’s a lot total for a domestic trip. I think she should pay that since the end of trip is no longer an “us” trip but idk how to calculate /approach value. Thoughts?

What is the best way to answer ' what are your Salary expectation' specifically in India's context . There are numerous content over internet which claim 'never' disclose your current CTC ..however you know that it is distant from reality..🙂
Does quoting 30 to 40% hike over current CTC a safe bet? Will it ensure that one will not get a bad deal or will it limit the horizon?

New to Fishbowl?

I used to work at PwC. My understanding is that recruiter only recruit for specific roles, means the recruiter interviewing you for an audit role won’t be able to get you into CMAAS. If you know you want to go to CMAAS, I would try to connect with CMAAS recruiters. Talking to audit recruiter and then telling them you’re actually interested in CMAAS is kinda wasting everyone’s time.
That’s not true we have plenty of people coming in with 1-2 years of audit experience as high performers
Left this out.... I am currently in audit by the way.
Isn’t advisory different than audit?
I meant more so that if the work is substantially different what makes OP think they will be a good candidate, be able to do the work, and actually like it?
What did you apply for? I think it really depends on what practice you applied for
Tbh I don’t think CMAAS is hiring rn. We’re still pretty dependent on deal flow and while we’re doing ok with our cornerstone clients and smaller projects things are definitely slow.
I’ve been told not to work >40 hours because they’d rather add another body in because we have excess capacity.
