Got denied a Federal job at a prison because of "NOT able for retention on active duty" on my DD214. Even though it's Honorable. I'm really frustrated since I have been going for this job for about a year. I even signed the contract to start and they just hit me with this. Is there anything to rebuttal this or am I just SOL? Don't mean to rant, just really frustrated that the rug got pulled under my feet while the midst of my getting hired so I can support my family.

I’m not it 100% on this but I would contact your regional ESGR rep and ask some questions. Often they will call the employer and help them understand the laws protecting military veterans.

I'm almost to the 2 year mark in my role of a SOC Analyst after graduating with a degree in Cybersecurity. I'm new to fishbowl, would anyone here be interested in connecting?

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.
