Got dinged after a job interview and was told by the recruiter verbatim that the reason is I wasn’t outgoing enough. This was for a product manager role, not sales or anything...so disappointing.

What does it mean when you apply to a bunch of jobs for which I am a good fit and you hear nothing back for these jobs? For some applications, I'm approaching two weeks since submission. I did get a call back to the first position I applied to; however, after the lab manager saw how much experience I had he said to release me, far too overqualified, tell him he should be applying to Senior Research Associate positions. I have given interview on oct 8 in LTI and got selected after that I got mail from HR on oct 10 to submit documents after a week on oct 19 i got a mail saying thank you for applying LTI you have cleared all stages after that no update it has been a week.. How do you advocate for a "level" promotion in a company that has vague unofficial descriptions of levels? I'm doing L4-5 (on standard levels, or L3 within our system) work but can't get away from the unofficial "L2".

Making 140k with 7 yrs experience in this role, and 12 prior years experience in Systems Engineering roles. I know someone on my team is at 180k with a similar career.

Anyone feel like they regret being in consulting? I’m a serious introvert who wishes instead of going to school for business, I did something more technical and ended up as a developer. It could be isolation making things worse, but I’ve come to realize I really hate talking/facilitating due to social anxiety lol. But I feel it’s too late to do anything about it (I’m 27).

What topics do you bring up when you’re networking? My conversations skew bizarre because I sincerely don’t want to be talking to people to network. “So where do you work?” can’t be all of it.
