OW is great in the region, I hear great things. That being said, Bain is still MBB. Even if comparable in the region, you should think about where you want to be in the future.
If it’s not Middle East, consider where Bain’s reputation may open more doors. If ME, OW can definitely be an option over Bain.
Talk to people from both and make your decision.
Bain is more commonly recognized as the global leader. Will be easy to move across geographies.
In OW you will have to compete with Saudis who got hired based on connections rather than skills. I moved from Europe too and found it very hard to establish myself. Language is another huge factor with local teams and clients. Go to Bain
Not at all. They are the partners’ “golden kids”. I have worked with consultants who lacked basic skills but kept receiving top tier reviews. The secret? Some family ties to the Ministry of Interior…
Use OW offer to counter Bain then again to counter OW lol
Salaries are non-negotiable. Best you can do is some signing bonus wiggle room
With the 15% difference, Bain is not a clear winner here honestly. Difficult decision tbh. You should think about them the same way in the region in terms of culture and projects, but globally I believe Bain is superior.

From what I hear, OW ME is quite diversified and still growing so in a downturn market like this, you should prioritize growth over marginally better brand.
Hey Fish, also in Spain and accepted BCG offer for Riyadh. Let’s talk !
Bain is quite new to the region, OW is well established and growing.
However, OW is quite new to post MBA hires and doesn’t do a great job at integration (at least in ME), assuming you don’t come for a consulting background before MBA.
Think about what consulting means to you, is it something you want on your CV but you’re likely to leave at some point in the future? Then maybe brand is your key.
Are you here for a career in consulting? Possibly in the region? Then regional strength and presence might be the answer.
Just try to find your motivator and the answer might get clearer.
I don’t think any firm in the ME is good at integrating post MBA hires
OW is the better firm in the region
Only reason I’d take bain is if you want to move globally
