They’re offering you a million dollars? Nice - which team

Ac : Make it stand up.
I’m surprised you have heard that. D definitely has a harsher culture (consulting, not audit) since you have higher expectations for other free work on top of your 45 billable/wk and are more frequently re-assessed there. Both are solid places for your resume but since you’ve already worked at a B4 I wouldn’t call either a great place to work.
Million dollar question in terms of potential earnings I assume. Interesting that you heard EY was harsh on culture. Out of the big 4 I thought our reputation was one of the better ones and Deloitte was the worst in terms of culture. Everyone I’ve worked with at EY that came over from D said that the environment at Deloitte is extremely cut throat and they set a culture in which everyone is stabbing each other in the back to level up. I’m sure folks at EY could say the same. I’ve been at EY for 4 years now and they’ve treated me extremely well and my comp has over doubled.
Can I DM you?

If you really want to do something worthwhile in the technological space, then steer clear from the Big4s.
Probably they best comment I came across on this thread.
I’ve worked at both. Go with EY.
EY is the epitome of nice culture
bro I've heard deloitte gifted i-phone to senior consultants . 😅
That's part of story where only a certain amount is reimbursed by D and rest is from your pocket🤣
Deloitte is worse in terms of WLB specially when attrition rate is high and quality of new hires is being compromised to the next level, good resources are facing pressure due to that. EY is better today than Deloitte in every aspect.
Which practices?
I’m at EY and I’ve been happy here.
Culture vary by office and team for every firm. It’s impossible to compare without more details
And how do you know Deloitte is softer?
I was with Deloitte HC for 10 years and am now at EY albeit in talent. There is the expectation that in addition to client work you are also working on firm initiatives - proposals, thought leadership, etc that can add up to more hours a week. At EY I find people can be more direct - eg I didn’t like this- which put me off at first, but now I appreciate it. It leads to more productive discussions and relationships. At Deloitte there wasn’t that directness- or If there was it verged on abuse.
EY!
Deloitte is fantastic if you’re willing to learn and be adaptable. Great people and opportunities. What area or industry focus?
EY is pretty nice and I have heard that it is significantly nicer than Deloitte. However, I find it quite boring. But that’s just me personally. I will probably be switching industries soon.
Please don't join EY bro unless wanna suffer due to some managers.
