I joined Tiger Analytics with CTC of 9lpa. When I check in greythr IT statement, it shows 7.14lpa.
In the CTC payslip, it shows 75k per month as my salary. But this month I got 61k.
I understand they deduct tax, but I feel it is too much. IDK where I'm losing the money. Can someone tell if this is normal. I'm a fresher so, IDK much about it.
Also, what can I do to pay less taxes? Any help on that?

You’re not avoiding anything. To tithe is to give God out of the increase he gives you. If he’s putting you through a season of drought, your tithe reflects that. He knows that.
Your tithe is not a mindless giving but an acknowledgement that all you have was given to you to steward by him; it belongs to him.
The big question is if God wants you to go through this program. If yes, he knows it will impact your giving.
Tithing capabilities should not be part of that discussion, he doesn’t need your money. He wants your heart and your service.
Modern Christians seem to conflate “tithing” with “giving.” They’re not the same thing.
Tithing, by definition, is returning 10% of what you produce/earn to God as a way to honor Him first with your money, as we should in all things.
Giving (aka offering) is what we do out of a grateful heart. It’s beyond what we’re supposed to return to Him as an expression of our gratitude.
There’s a reason why the Bible uses two separate terms: tithes AND offerings. They’re distinct concepts and are not interchangeable.
For me, it was very freeing to just settle this issue in my heart and spirit and honor God with my money in a principled way without having to over analyze every situation. It took me awhile to get there, but now I don’t even think twice. It’s a joy to give and He continues to bless me and honor me and my family in ways that still amaze me. I don’t do it specifically to reap any blessing, but He is faithful to honor what He said in Malachi 3:10…
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.”
Malachi 3:10 NKJV
Your tithe doesn’t have to be in dollars. It can be in your time volunteering, worshipping, or praying.
I wholeheartedly disagree. Tithe actually means “tenth.” It refers to setting aside the first portion of your increase/revenue/wages to honor God. The rest (volunteering, worshiping, praying) is stuff that should be happening anyway just because we’re Christians and love God.
The other stuff is great, but please don’t call it “tithe” because it’s not accurate.
“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” Malachi 3:10
Tithing reflects our heart. Is God really first I’m every circumstance? Or only first when there isn’t something better? Do we give cheerfully when it’s just part of the budget? Or do we give cheerfully when we may need to sacrifice something?
As a faithful tither, Satan won’t tempt you to change your behavior with an opportunity to spend that money on something blatantly sinful - you would immediately reject that. Temptation comes in the form of something that seems to make sense… that we can easily justify to the world.
This may be one of the first occasions. And it will make it easier the next time an opportunity comes up that means you “can’t tithe for awhile”.
Why not continue to tithe and ask the Lord to make a way for this educational opportunity to work without sacrificing the tithe? God can do amazing things.
Op, that’s not what people are saying. It’s
1) check if this is really from God
2) if so, go to school and continue to tithe
3) have faith that God will provide for the difference
Getting the money for school could be any number of things (e.g, cheaper place to live, less spending on going out, etc.)
The point is that you don’t choose over God. If it’s his will for you to go to school, it’s not your place to say you won’t go. It’s also not your place to not tithe if you have income from a job. It’s your responsibility to step forward in faith.
Now, let me be very clear that you are not supposed to tithe loans. This is not an increase, think of a balance sheet. This is debt you have from someone else (Give Caesar what is Caesar’s). Else you would have to tithe every time you used a credit card on top of what your income is, for example. Hence my 10%*0=0.
If you’re not working, you “tithe” the increase that God gives you (your education) to serve him and then tithe from the subsequent job afterwards.
I can only speak on what I would do and not tell you what to do. God loves a cheerful giver and the Bible says you can test the Lord only on this matter of tithe Malachi 3:10. I always have and will tithe as long as I earn money. I’ve even tithed from my allowance when I was a kid and God has always been faithful. We will never lack or want anything especially due to tithing. What you do with your resources is also indicative of what you prioritize in lifestyle… we know God should be number 1 in all things but sometimes it doesn’t turn out that way with our time and energy.
In my experience, cutting corners/looking for loopholes to tithing has never been the right move. I’d rather respect the principle (10% of my gross) and trust God to honor my obedience.
Tithing is not mandated in the New Testament. It is prescribed in the Old Testament for Israel. That being said, it is certainly a good thing for Christians to set their base level of monetary giving at a tenth of their income. But Jesus made it clear that giving is not a legalistic endeavor.

Yes and yes!! 👏🏽👏🏽
Your saying your student loans=take home pay? If that’s the case, and you’re truly concerned. You could take out a loan for the tithe and get a side gig to pay for it. Interest doesn’t accrue until after you finish the program.
*the advice given by others is reasonable.
Haha I was saying that my tithe is 10% of my income and the tuition would be around 15% and I really have wanted to go to this school/program, but don’t want to take out loans. So I was trying to figure out what to do, because I don’t think not paying tithes for 9-12 months is in line with how I was brought up. I was kind of always told even if you make 10 dollars for the month, one goes to God.
This is a great topic - thanks for raising it. I've given a lot of thought to how we give to the Lord, over the years, and have been tested on this and have also seen how amazingly faithful God is to keep His promises to provide for us when we give in faith.
I do believe that under the new covenant we live in, giving is a choice - it's right to tithe, but not to follow the law, rather because we trust Him. The Hebrew people of God in the OT had many forms of giving beyond the tithe, and I believe these provide us with inspiration to think about giving that pleases God. The company I lead gives 51% of its retained profits away, not because of any law but really to put our profits into perspective and reflect that it's all from Him anyway.
So my thoughts on your question would be: if the Lord has opened this door and you believe it's His will that you join, go for it! Trust Him for provision. Give to Him, as you are able. He is more interested in your heart. Be ready to take bold steps of faith in your giving, as He leads.
Also: work and study for Him! This is key - your grad program should not be instead of honoring Him but should be part of that.
Incidentally, we also support a Christian Graduate Program in the UK in which successful candidates are paid (www.worship.works/grad). Do you have anything like this available in your area?

I’d suggest Matthew 6:33 seek first the kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you. We should prioritize God in everything.
I can personally testify it wasn’t until I started tithing in my masters program that God really started opening doors. This could also be a question of trust: do you trust God will supply your needs by keeping him first?
Malachi 3:10 is always a good scripture for reference
