In my experience, "no" calls are made pretty quickly because it's just to say that, but if it's a maybe and they are waiting to see where other candidates fall, or they aren't sure where to slot you or are figuring out details of package can take more time, so usually I see a delay as a good thing rather than a negative indicator. And never think you know how an interview with. The worst interview of my life (from my perspective) landed me my current job.
it has no bearing; my offer came after a week. i know a guy who got an invite to a cultivation event 1.5 months after his interview because the partner forgot to make the call
I did... Hr said I would hear back soon (latest next week) but I've never heard of hearing back so late with a positive response
It can go either way - sometimes the respective Office / Practice takes a little longer to make the final decision and it can take a week or so given that most EP interviews will be on a Friday. Sorry not super helpful but hang in there.
Follow up
Thanks for your encouraging words, McK1 and PwC1. I have heard EP moves slower but I know they won't be found another round of interviews for a while. Hoping they just haven't forgotten me... I'm just used to thinking a no response is a no. I'll hopefully have an update next week.
How were you recruited? Was there a posting for the job? I've been at 2 firms: (1) took a week for informational interview, 4 weeks for formal interviews, and 8 weeks for offer. They were busy and they had to create job description for me. (2) met my team at a conference late April, informal interviews in May, 1 day of interviews first week of June, offer the next day.
My Deloitte offer took 2.5 weeks bc they were figuring out where they wanted me within the firm (like even which tax entity)
Thanks guys but I'm referring to the gap between the 1st round and 2nd round.. Not so much the final-offer gap. I know those can be longer. McK2- any thoughts on that at your firm?
Happened to me with big 4....took weeeeeks and got offers. Don't sweat it until u hear an official no
Weeks in between interviews I mean
Agree with Mck2. But if it makes you feel better mine was 3 weeks between interview and offer (EP). I followed up each week.
It's a rejection guys but thanks for keeping the hope alive. Back to my shitty projects. :/
Ah sorry to hear, if it makes u feel any better, my interview with them ended with them never even calling me back.
