Don’t know, but take the boutique offer...
I wouldn’t wait on EY. If the team that was hiring you was in desperate need they would have scooped you up and let you sit on the bench.
I would take the offer with the boutique. Who knows, you may like it. If EY comes back later then counter for a higher salary. Make it worth your while to leave that job.
Working at EY isn’t all that. Independence is a b*tch, and if you’re into tech they’re not all that good at it. Leadership has also struggled with being transparent. Plenty of other jobs unless it was a great offer.
I had a similar situation happen during my interviews. I’d received an offer from industry and had to pressure EY HR to act quickly. Needless to say, they didn’t pay heed. I then emailed them saying the competing firm needs an answer by next Monday, and that’s when EY reached out to me on Friday (before next Monday) and made me the offer. Ofcourse I accepted the EY offer at this point. Hopefully this helps, and wish you good luck.
Totally unknown. They're likely waiting on a deal to close and it will be dependent on the client who coming out of the holidays is likely dragging feet
I had to wait for 4 months between my last interview and offer. So it happens. But then, the 4 extra months gave me leverage to ask $20K more for base...and location preference.
My advice is proceed with other things as they surface...and when/if EY comes back, you can leverage for better deal or remain where you are
Have you heard back?
