Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I got offer in Bangalore FIS and my husband got an offer with one big company in Hyderabad. Both companies are currently WFH only but in future, I might have to consider moving to Hyderabad. Fis doesn't have office in Hyderabad so I was wondering if I can ask permanent WFH later. I guess I will be put in fis payment solution.

I was let go over zoom. My log-ins were cut within one hour. They mailed me a severance package to sign and a prepaid FedEx to return the computer.
The head of creative services, who I don’t think had ever talked to me before, emailed out of the blue that we should have a zoom “catch up” and I was like 95% sure that was bs, 100% sure when some rando from HR was added to the meeting last minute. But the agency was tanking hard, I had copied files from the laptop in anticipation of layoffs well before this time, only needed 10 mins to send a goodbye email. They emailed severance paperwork, sent a prepaid box to return the laptop and mailed me most of my stuff from desk a few months later.
You mean let go. I can't say I've ever seen anyone being actually fired in this industry.

The difference is “let go” is usually part of a lay off. And sometimes it has nothing to do with performance. “Fired” means it was a performance issue or some rule was violated.
