Has anyone dealt with a capital reduction without a payout? Trying to see how this is treated if a CFC of a US company reduces its share premium to offset a deficit in retained earnings. Is it a dividend for US income tax purposes if no consideration was paid?

Haven't run into that, but I can't see how it'd be considered a dividend for US tax purposes. Sounds like a reclass entry based on non-US GAAP.

How important is having a “name brand” on your resume? For context, undergrad at a top 10 non ivy that typically gets less name recognition and work experience at a T2 (LEK, P-EY, Kearney, etc). Will adcoms / future job interviewers view this as a downgrade?

Hi Everyone,
I hope life is treating you well.
I recently moved to Ottawa from Louisville, Kentucky, and I am looking for an accounting job in Ontario or Quebec. I have work experience in Tax& Finance and an MBA in Accounting. I was wondering if any of you could refer me for an open position in your company ( after we’ve had a chance to talk, of course) or put me in contact with a member of your hiring team.
Please let me know if any of you would be comfortable doing so.

Thanks,
