Hello ZSers,
I have been shortlisted for AC role and my HR discussion is scheduled next week.
1. Need some insights on the maximum and minimum ctc (fixed and variable) that can be offered for 3 yoe (all relevant) . My current ctc is 7.2 (6.5 fixed) . Tech stack - Big data and AWS developer.
2. Is there any joining bonus. If yes , what should be the ask.
Any inputs will be very helpful for me to go with my expectations to the HR. Thanks!

I got interviewed at Pepsi Co for Lead -2 position and have cleared all the rounds. How much can I expect, I have just asked 30% on current CTC.
Please do let me know as it will be very helpful. Do they provide relocation allowance, do i need to submit any documents for them. Also, do they offer any joining bonus?

I am on month 11 and in the same boat as you. Almost 1200 applications and counting......I have had great interviews, but I am starting to believe that even though I chopped 10 years off of my resume, once I am on camera and discuss my background to a certain degree, my age is becoming an issue.
Almost 9 months for me and nothing at all to show for it. Revising my targets lately and doubling down on networking my way to something.
Inside tech, it’s bad for all of us that do not have top pedigree. I hope that non-tech businesses in various sectors industries are always in need of tech savvy people that do what Product people do,
Also been volunteering for a local nonprofit doing data and systems assessment which is super rewarding and reminds me I AM USEFUL!
My gosh folks, I’m on three months and going bonkers. I feel a little better knowing I’m not alone here, but those of you at almost a year I’m feeling for ya. Don’t give in and don’t give up.
Approaching one year in a few weeks. I've had 3 final round interviews and one offer, then ghosted. I've decided to retire from corporate and started my own catering business. This job market is too much of a circus for me. My mental health needed the change. Wishing everyone still looking, all the best.
8 months of the same situation, you are not alone brother, keep grinding!!

As hard as it seems now and as hopeless as it feels, do your best every day. Interviewing is a skill that needs a lot of practice and a good coach. Never give up. I know many others that were out of work for 18 months+ and landed jobs that pay more than their previous job, with better titles and better bosses. You are good enough. We all are good enough. Things will get better. Here are a few more tips to help you stand out from the crowd when interviewing:
1. Be prepared and learn something about the company and role you are interviewing for. Ask the recruiter what is their pain point that the person in the role needs to solve. This is especially important for more senior roles.
2. Dress neatly, sit in a well lit room if on Zoom, smile - first impressions matter.
3. Be kind to everyone you interview with. Send thank you notes. They don't hurt and might just help. Be especially kind to the recruiters and the admins that set up meetings. The universe responds to kindness.
4. Spend an hour a day learning something new. Have an edge that others can't replicate. Maybe it's your ability to code, maybe it's your ability to come up with new ideas, maybe it's your ability to present articulately. Whatever it is - identify and double down on your strengths.
5. Look up youtube videos - there are so many fantastic coaches who post online. I especially like Andrew LaCavita.
6. Pray if you are religious, or talk to your friends and family when you feel low. Or go to a homeless shelter and serve some food. Do something that lets you express your emotions and also help others. You'll feel better.
7. Eat healthy food, exercise, get some Vitamin D (sunlight), C.
8. Learn to meditate - it is a superpower.
9. And remember the universe wants you to win. You will succeed. Let us know when you land your dream job !
In the same boat here
Same boat here, 16 months it’s been now.
Remember, you only need 1 acceptance. Hang in there!
In the mean time, don't forget to look after your mental and physical well-being. Life is more than a job...when you are employed and even when you aren't!
At this point try another field and approach, a year or more is too long
Hang in there. I will be starting new contract job after 9 months of unemployment. I've had the same challenges everyone else mentioned, but I've been through this before. Longest I've ever been out of work was 13 months. This is the third time it took 8+ months, but first time in 10 years.
Stay active, keep applying, take some courses, and don't believe all the negative. Agism is a thing, but so is having a negative attitude. Applying to too many jobs is also as bad as applying to too few. Every time you get a rejection hurts even if it is for a job you don't want- maybe even more.
The job I'm taking is probably below my experience level, and it is definitely less money, but it is a job I'm excited for. I like the product, company, and opportunity. I think that showed authentically in my interviews and I'm sure that helped. And as it turns out I'm pretty sure I'll like my new manager.
Most of the opportunities I interviewed for I liked, but I did get texted a couples times for jobs I didn't like and that felt so much worse. Maybe I'm strange that way, but if you are like me then think twice before shotgunning you're resume out everywhere in desperation.
Yes, I am in month 11...I've had a handful of final interviews, also lost out to another person..or not picked...at this point I am about to start applying at last company now that am coming up on a year...I've not done nearly amount of apps you've done so now I feel even worse...Wish I had the funds to start own business would rather do that then go on in this dog and pony show
It’s not what you know it’s who you know and if you are applying to so many jobs and not getting through I’d suggest you take another look at your interviewing technique. Are they doing a matrix style of interview where they are simply box ticking. Are you doing these interviews remotely? Request a f2f. Could you go direct rather than via a recruiter. Is the recruiter really putting you forward in the best light. I had a similar epiphany several years ago where I had done 10 company interviews each had at least 5 rounds. Some after the process I felt weren’t right for me and I bowed out, others I felt were box ticking and not giving me the time of day. How much can you really learn about someone from a 15-30 mins interview. When I finally secured my role, I had used my inside contacts to put in a good word, spoke to the hiring manager and then 2hrs being grilled by the sales and pre-sales director. All f2f. The HR recruiter interview just turned into a formality and negotiation. If you are taking stock, just take a step back. See what you are doing right as well as what you are doing wrong and make some changes. In sales and you are selling yourself, you have to look at 3T’s. Territory, timing and talent. Secure all 3 and you will be onto a winner. If you are able to network to get some additional face time with the individuals, this would be your best way in and around some of those box ticking, matrix style interviews.
No one is hiring. All jobs are being offshored.

The jobs have been offshored. Just search for company name and 'layoffs' ( deloitte layoffs ) and then search for the same company and 'jobs in India'. ( deloitte jobs in india ) You will see that the jobs have gone abroad and aren't coming back. I did my last contract 14 months ago and then that job went to India. I have always done freelance work etc so it is easy for me to get work from UpWork etc.
