Has anyone faced issue where Infosys application status has started reflecting as “Rejected after Interview” which was “Decision pending” earlier. But HR is informing that background verification is under process. Did anyone receive offer after this situation?

I got selected in Infosys and offer was about to get release today but at last minute suddenly today infy HR told I was interviewed 5 months 20 days before in infosys so they cannot proceed now as 6 months cool off period.
