I am currently helping my best friend plan a very small wedding! She’s never loved big events and not a huge fan of being the center of attention either, so after they talked it over they decided on a tiny wedding in their backyard! It’s been such a cool experience so far, everything is very relaxed and they are so excited too!
Or maybe didn’t have the budget?
Yes. During Covid though. Planned it in 3 days hahaha. Decided Friday why keep waiting on lockdowns and Monday we had an 8 person wedding. Micro micro ha
And we are planning on a 5 year vow renewal that will also be small but involve some more planning and more than 8 people and not in my parents backyard although it’s gorgeous there and was absolute perfect for our Covid wedding. They just won’t want 30 some people and have no where for them to park ha. Otherwise I would do it there again.
What exactly is a micro wedding? If you mean like a small inexpensive wedding I helped my sister plan hers so I can probably answer some of your questions. I just haven't heard that term used before OP.
Yeah just a small inexpensive wedding! Around how much has your sister spent so far for the small wedding?
Yes I’m a Event Coordinator. I get those request very often
YES. My daughter is the same way. Hates being the center of attention.
We went to a super beautiful park near our home. That has been her favorite since childhood.
There was 15 of us and a professional photographer.
It was a beautiful early summer day.
They exchanged vows and rings with a friend as the MC.
Then we took a ton of pictures. Went to a vinery and had fun, food and a cute sm 3 tier cake.
Yes & it was in 2020. It entailed calling City Hall a few weeks in advance to schedule an appointment with the District Judge. We had 5 people join us. We then hosted a small family dinner for about 20 people. In total it cost us about $1,500.
My wedding only cost about $1,000 including modifying something my mom made for me in high school to be part of the wedding dress.
Yes. I planned mine within two weeks. It was perfect and wonderful. The right people attended and it was an open invite on Facebook!
Did you have any strangers show up?
Happilly divorced here. But, we agreed to have micro wedding ie me, my husband to be and witness x 2. And dinner later.. nothing fancy. On the day we went for a walk and met cute storytale grandma (different city) and my other half started to chat with her and invited her for our wedding :o I was like.. ok! We got married, went for dinner and when we were turning into the street my now husband said "remember i love u" and i looked up and there was like 500 people on the street!!! Everyone dancing singing and me freaking out bcs i wanted micro wedding - i hate to be in the centre of attention. Ended up sitting on the chair while everyone came to take a pic with me. When i asked who are those ppl i was told "auntie and auncle". Apparently everyne is called auntie and uncle 😂
So my micro wedding costed me like 20£ dress from tkmaxx and that's it.. all food and drinks were provided by aunties and uncles!
(Imagine me telling this later to my family - they were ok with me getting married without them, but it made their day when i started with "he said "remember i love you". It's been xy years and they still make jokes about it
I'm an ordained minister and get requests for small intimate ceremonies all the time.
