Without another lined up? No. But (at least) three of my fellow junior associates did, with nothing lined up.

One is trying to launch a startup, one does freelance media work, and the third one just quit (no clue what his/her plans are). They all seem happier, fwiw. But time will tell how not having a BigLaw paycheck will affect them.

I'll do you one better. I left after 2 months because the job was that bad. I was lucky enough to go back to my old firm for another year. I have since moved jobs again but only because I was moving states where my previous firm didn't have an office. So, it was necessary and easy to explain. Either way though, the 2 month stint has not hindered me at all.

IMO I’ve never seen more pharma jobs open. And I keep seeing so many people in non-pharma looking for new jobs... well, we’ve got them. What’s the disconnect? Why do you think people won’t make the switch?

Hello all. I have applied for almost 600 jobs over LinkedIn since we shifted to Dubai in January 2022, I received a call back only from 1 employer, I went through the interview process with them but the result was rejection. It's been 8 months since the move but there is no luck in finding a job here in the HR domain. Can someone help me with understanding the market in the UAE related to the HR domain?

Do tech companies like FAANG hire strategy consultants? Starting at an MBB/T2 next year and curious if tech companies leverage consultants as much as other industries. Part of me wonders if they are in such high growth right now that consultants can’t add as much value, thus maybe a smaller presence. Thoughts?

Does anyone think it’s weird that my firm is bending over backwards to try to keep a first year staff from leaving the firm after she was rated a 2 this year. But now she’s trying to leave and they keep trying to push her to stay saying she can be a partner in 8-9 years and laying it all out in detail. The issue is they laid off other staff (all but her) so maybe that’s it? Find it very odd.

Currently 1 YOE tech consulting at Deloitte looking to make a hop to more strategy type roles and came across the strategy analyst development program- 1. is this only for fresh undergrads from specific schools or would I be able to apply? 2. What’s the compensation at this level? (worried I might have to take a pay cut). Also would appreciate any remarks regarding the program in general. Thanks!

What’s your advise for someone looking to get into soft IP litigation (not an engineering / science major) but have been working in L&E for 3 years now. I want to make the move, but feel like my background makes firms not want me. I’ve applied to a few places but don’t get an interview. I know my litigation skills are top notch — so I don’t know what to do. I started branching out to orgs to network , but any other ideas?

I’ve asked for work but no luck. I know they say this is normal for a stub but when should I start getting worried and consider looking for exit options? Fyi, I like my practice group, so I don’t want to change to a different group within my firm, hence would have to lateral, if I have to. Also, other co-1st years are churning in high hours.
