Yea took it right when it came out back in April. Mentioned this on another post - studied for 3 months and passed in 100 questions with no cyber experience while utilized. It’s probably 50% situational.... not too bad at all. Watch Kelly Handerhan’s video series on cybrary, read sybex CISSP (isc2) cover to cover, read the networking section of All-in-One CISSP, take Sybex chapter and practice tests, and then take Boson tests. You’ll be set from there.
Oh that's what it was? About 150 questions, took 1.5 hours, studied the night before, passed
This post is EVERYTHING to me! Thanks everyone. Starting my journey toward CISSP. I worried about the new format. My friend did warn me the test changed. Wasn't sure what to expect or how to move forward, but this post makes me feel better! Thanks for listing all the materials you used!!! I love this community!
Yup, agree w the above. I took it in Jan and passed (freshly converted to adaptive version) w all the sybex books and practice questions. I have a pretty technical background but found when answering the questions you really have to put your manager/advisor hat on and choose the answer that’s in the best interest of the client/business. Def helps to have the consulting exp for this exam, sometimes being too technical can hurt you vs thinking of the best answer for the organization given the circumstances (eg Cadillac vs Ferrari answer)
I passed it like two months ago. You need to pick best choice based on business objectives not technical objectives.
You don't use RSA token, email verification, biometric scan, and password all to log into a non sensitive computer ..it causes user experience to go down and increases probability of users to find loop holes. You want to find middle ground in security that enables business not hinders
This is the pro tip. Best for business objectives not the technical ones. Threw me off on all the practice tests until I thought this way...
OP I am planning to take in feb/March. Thank you for starting the thread. I am planning to do same thing A1 said, Kelly’s videos, sybex books and then lots of practice tests!
You don’t need to read the entire sybex book...
I should have mentioned that it’s only applicable to those whom can read quickly
Test is pretty easy if you've been in cyber for a few years and have done anything but CSF assessments
Thanks folks. I’ve followed that exact study pattern and in the Boson test engine now every night. I’m looking at taking in just after the new year. Fingers crossed!!
