Hi Whales, My profile got shortlisted for Application Engineer 3 role at Amazon.
Looking forward for any advice / tips for the interviews and anything I should prepare in particular. I will be having 4 rounds of interviews.
Also, what should I expect in terms of compensation and what should be a reasonable number to start with? Kindly advise.

Yep, happened to me a few times. You always need to make sure to let them know that you firm has a local office, that always gets things resolved. Except the one time they thought that I was a drug dealer, that time took a lot longer until they realized that I just looked like shit because it was 1 am and that the fact that I was going to fly back at 3pm the next day had nothing tondo with me delivering drugs....
Yes. Either get a work permit (takes 30 minutes to an hour depending on when you get there - EY's legal services did a lot of leg work for me in document prep) or never say that you are "working" or "consulting" or any derivation of those words. If you don't want to get a work permit, it helps to get a letter from the office you are visiting basically saying your dates of travel, you are there for meetings, you are not trying to steal Canadian jobs, and you will be paid by the US company. If the Canadian location has a lot of US travelers they have probably put that letter together before, so ask around.
Sadly, are you not White? Last time a friend went with friends the only non white friend out of four was pulled aside.
Yes I have. Once I got my work permit never had an issue again.
I got pulled for extra screening (not into a private room) but had a letter that explained why I was there and the duration by KPMG Canada and it helped, a lot. Watch Border Control Canada on Netflix, ha
