My advice is to stay at your current company for at least 6 months post mat leave if your kid is in daycare. Daycare illnesses are very real and you need flexibility to take days off while baby will inevitably be home sick. Also you will get sick. Being sick and starting a new job is not fun. But if you have a nanny, then no need to do this, and find a job now.
Agree with this.
I’m planning to use my pat leave for a job search… never planned to be in consulting long term. I don’t know if there is necessarily an “exit strategy” behind it though (vs. just having the extra downtime)
Do you have to pay back the coverage if you don’t come back?
