Has anyone written CAIA and found it to be useful? I'm not planning to move into portfolio management but would like to learn about alternative assets more. Company will pay for me to write it

You can read a book and learn plenty about alternatives. Yes the company is paying for it but it’s niche in its utility and it’s a time commitment. If you want to spend that time to study, might as well go for the CFA.

This is what I thought; I knew people who were too lazy to do cfa do caia just for the credential. I also know people who did caia because it was an additional credential but really have no use for it.

I'd jump at that opportunity. I think it would open a lot of doors down the road and make you way more marketable. And if you don't have to pay for it, why not?

I agree - if you're not paying for it, why not do it? It'll be a benefit for you. CFA down the line would add to that

Bombed an interview today with a boutique advisory firm. Been an IT Auditor for the last six years, and whilst I don't necessarily hate the work, the firm and people aren't great. Keen on moving to 1st or 2nd line of defence roles but it's one rejection after the other.

Anyone got good success stories help to cheer me up?

What’s a reasonable salary range for someone in ATL with 7 YOE and an MBA? Currently at $155k base plus 15% bonus and looking for exit opps but the market is capping Sr. managers off at $170k so not worth it for me to move unless it’s a Director level role but then it’s also hard to break into the Director level from Manager. Should I just stay put? Any thoughts?

Hi friends! I’m looking for resources to help me be successful in a “Functional Lead” role.

The role is in FinTech
I’m responsible for strategy, comms and key partnerships for a bank product. It reports through Customer Experience but touches product, Ops. marketing. It’s basically a Project Manager role but more nuanced.

Anyone out there in a role like this? Any books. videos or even best practices to share?

This might have been already asked so apologies in advance, but has anyone gone back to public/advisory from industry? I know there are a lot of boomerangs out there but I mean more specifically advisory or due diligence? Currently in Assurance and want to experience private industry as either a Senior Accountant or SEC reporting role but don’t want to shut myself from these other opportunities? Or should I persue advisory first and then private accounting if it doesn’t seem like a good fit?

Is there anyone who could suggest me some certifications that I can do to grow myself technically? I am a functional business analyst with an experience of 6 years but want to groom myself into techno-functional role.

Considering lateral to privacy associate position at midsize firm (from slightly smaller general business firm). They’re opening new new privacy practice group, and I’d be 2nd attorney under supervising partner.

Worth taking on more hours (+100/year) at same salary just for privacy opportunity?

Have minimal practical privacy experience and very interested in breaking into the field.

I’m currently a relationship banker for Santander in NYC with 3 years of experience, and will have the opportunity to get promoted into a senior/private banker role soon that pays 70k - 85k, when you include commissions + bonuses.

The problem is that I enjoy working with numbers and doing analytical work more than sales and relationship management.

I’m feeling a bit stuck where I am, so I was wondering if anyone knew a good transition into an analytical role from retail banking?
