Can partners comment whether Pwc is having another round of layoffs. This is so scary! Shouldn't they rid of partners who can't sell first?! Or pause hiring? Opp. cost to find and train talent again?

I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. Hey folks, I'm getting an offer as a SC in EY UK. Presently I'm a manager with EY India (up for SM next yr Oct 2021). Comp is 55k range (haven't officially received the figure, a few more days it's expected, doing some homework before that).

I'll be moving with family. Wife may not immediately start working (,find a new job, we have a toddler daughter as well 2 YO).

I personally don't find this offer commercially attractive. Can someone offer some counter arguments?

Looking for advice. ~1 month ago I started formally complaining to HR about some toxic partners, uncompetitive comp, and excessive work load.
