Have a senior designer who’s joined. Has been offered CD role in their old agency but felt they weren’t ready for the jump. Seem to struggling with me being above them and my impression is they don’t appreciate my role and feel I’m in their way. Say they just want to give their full value but struggling with the fact that I’m on calls with the client, signing off on work (accounts I’ve led for years and they’re only started on). Any tips?

How did you get to know about their resentment towards you/your role?

With just this information. I think you must keep doing your job as the CD. I might be making some assumptions here, but as CD, you are also responsible for your teams growth. If you give your designer more responsibilities and a chance to prove themselves, it might give you a chance to move up as well. Win-win situation.

It’s more of a gut feeling. They’re really hard to read but there’s a lot of talk about owning decision-making, authority over others and seems very irritated by myself (and AD) contributing to work. We’re a very small (5 on the creative team) and collaboration is so important. I strongly believe that it’s not about ‘ownership’ of ideas and decisions but seeing it as a team push to get the best work out the door. If the junior member solves it, great, rally around and use your experience to help them make the most of it. But I think their experience is more of the title dictates the ownership. Ultimately as CD the buck falls on me to ensure the creative output is strong. And the role is a senior one at this point. We don’t have enough work or a need for a DD at the time (hopefully that will change if we keep winning work).

AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

AWS has prestige but is it worth it?

Hi All, just sharing what on mind to vent it out from my system. Maybe with this I could gain some insights and inspiration.
I have been working as a data scientist since 2018 & have been the bread winner. I have neither been under a proper mentor nor with a team of peers from my field to help me out. I was alone and confused. I have never really got the chance to prove myself which makes me all the more depressed. I'm not sure what to do with my future, indecisive and low on confidence.

If someone could please help clarify - how do I add other people on the onset on buying a property? This is a new build, buying directly from the builder.
