Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

I'm kinda eagerly waiting to see who wants to break security clearances and/or get their family abducted. This is likely a tough answer, but likely you weren't the first person hired through your HR contact and they would have a much better idea as to the current average lead time for clearance to be granted. Likewise, I've heard some of the neatest stuff about milspec style projects is that there is a major focus on reliability, redundancy and security baked in to every project that is refreshing in stark comparison with the industry / mvp / launch broken product approach. I've heard it takes time for everything to happen, that it can be interesting and exciting. I've also heard that big4 has an amazing financial future if you see yourself there for a long time, one that you might not find through SBIRs or directly through government agencies.
Thanks for the info! Just wanted to make sure I’m going somewhere where I’ll learn and grow and not feel trapped.
