Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?
I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?
Has anyone interviewed with Citi?

Always resign only when you have offer in hand. Right now market is not that good so you are taking too much pressure on your self once you are at the end of your notice period..
Because if there is gap in your employment to get a job is more difficult....
Best wishes to you.. hope you will find a good opportunities..
My last company also have 90 day notice period and this time also. And I got the offer both the time..
Again, there are n number of scenarios if the company culture is toxic, the environment is not supporting, there is too much work load/pressure, there is no growth, and many more so in this case, some times we have to resign from that company and after resigning in serving notice or after serving notice until we get a job, we can enhance our skills as well.
I resigned from my company on Dec 4, without any offers, with a 60days notice. I was in bench as my project got ramped down once the application was ready and no more funding was provided by client for that project.
I was confident with my skillset and was attending interviews with a confirmation that I can be relieved within 15 days as I was not having any assignments in my current company.
Many companies agreed and I attended arrund 25 interviews starting from Nov last week till January 1st week.
My official last day was feb 1 but I got an early release by Jan 20 once I knew I got the right job for me.
I searched for my job through naukri, I had updated my data as 15 to 30 days joinee, so I got many calls.
It will work out if you are confident in your skill set and if they are relevant to current openings.
For exmple I am a QA - and most jobs were asking for Java Selenium, Rest assured, cucumber, bit of a test/team lead role handling juniors, and above 5 years automation exp. I had all these and my profile was matching for most of the job posts.
Similarly you can test the waters by just modifying your profile in Naukri and see if you are getting calls, if you are getting them then confidently apply resignation and try it with full focus.
If you are working in a project then it will be tough to prepare, but take time and do it if you are able to, you will get a good opportunity outside.
If you are in bench then it's very convenient to get one.
Note - I did very bad in my initial interviews, but as I attended more interviews it got easy to navigate through the questions. I was asked to write programs and I stuttered in the interviews even if I had practised that code prior, but through the last few interviews I got selected in 5 of the service companies. Initially we would feel we are trash, but slowly we will know we can do it, just look ahead and don't even mind about failed interviews. Only thing is to remember every question and note it down and google it after the interview, coz most of the interview questions are repetitive, and we can do better in the next one.
All the best, if you are good enough you will get your next job no matter what, good luck to you.
hi can you please tell me where and how to apply, as i tried yo apply but got no responses
When I got into PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) at PwC, I felt frustrated and ended up resigning due to the feedback I received from my manager, which I thought was unreasonable.
I served my notice period for 3 months (90 days) without being assigned to a project. During this time, I focused on job preparation, resume building, and enhancing my skills.
For about 2.5 months, I didn’t receive any calls, but just as my notice period ended, I started receiving over 10 interview invitations and eventually secured 3 job offers. The best part? I received a 110% salary hike.
Sometimes, it feels like God breaks your heart to lead you toward something even better in life.
If you feel stuck in your company, just leave and prepare well. It is better to cry with more hike and better learning opportunities rather than getting stuck in a toxic environment with meagre hikes.
Your destiny sparks when your comfort zone comes to an end.
I will disagree with Product Manager 1 on some points.
Pray and prepare are both mutually exclusive of each other.
One can pray to keep mind focused and then of course devote the time to prepare for interview. Destiny plays a part in us meeting with different people. But what we interact with them is free will. Just praying wont suffice too but just preparation wont too. I would refrain to call prayer a wastage and futile. Thanks.
Yes I did, but it took me almost 13 months to land my next job. So I suggest not to resign without any offer in hand.
Leave l
I am a business analyst and product owner. I resiged four times without any offer in hand. First time with CTC of 5.50 lpa, second time with CTC of 10.50 lpa, third time with CTC of 24.30 lpa all fixed in a product based healthcare MNC, fourth time with CTC of 26 lpa all fixed. Everytime I quit without a job in hand to protect self-respect and my ego. Most of you would certainly think of me an idiot or insane person. Then it took me anywhere from 4 months to 6 months to 1.5 year to land a similar or better offer. During the breakin period I kept doing small jobs to freelance work to doing nothing and continued applying for the jobs and giving interviews. Finally, luck and hard work favoured and I was able to get another job. And mind you I am a family person with family responsibilites without any support, yet I took that extreme step. It depends on your risk taking capability, your character, your attitude towards the life, your ego, your self respect something beyond the money and title. If you are someone who can survive shamelessly in a toxic and humiliating environment, you can thrive anywhere unless the resignation is for better growth or salary.
Hey could you help me out, how did you get the freelancing work? I have also left my job and willing to do freelancing in the meantime. I am Java Developer.
Yes i have .. currently serving NP.. last 1 month is left .. no offer yet .. hoping for the best
Wish you all the best.
One advice from someone who has been through this before - this last month of NP is the most important one. This is where you should be getting a lot of opportunities.
Yes. I have resigned last week, i am currently serving notice period without any offer. 50 days left. I know I will get lots of call once np left within 30 days bracket
Bro I want to start my career in software testing is it a good field
I have done it before and I'm going to resign after next month without any offer in hand. It totally depends on the situation your in. People may judge you at the end of the day your mental and physical health matters the most.
It took me 5 months.
I resigned from my job as a Python backend developer in July when I had 1.8 years of experience due to problems at my company (a startup).
At this level of experience, it is quite difficult to get an interview call.
I upskilled myself and kept applying for jobs even before resigning as well.
I applied to 1226 jobs in 6 months, focusing only on close matches.
I got 11 interview calls, out of which I was interested in only 6. Some of them were from good companies, but I couldn’t crack the interviews. Finally, by God’s grace, I landed a good job.
I only know how much pain I went through in these 5 months: no interview calls, no money, fear about the future, fear about the career gap, family dependency, family, and relatives—so much more.
To summarize: If you're lucky, you might get a job within a week. Luck, upskilling, and consistency are key factors if you're planning any such
currently in the same situation as you were, it's been 4 months of unemployment now, but we are still going and hoping...🤞🏻
I completed 90days notice period & resigned without any offers in hand on Aug 7, 2024. After resigning, I applied for jobs & joined a company on Sep 13, 2024
7.5yrs. Fullstack with react & .net
6.5 months. Finally got what I always desired so whoever is reading this dont give up.
I joined an organization and within 4 days I realised that I joined a wrong company. I left the job and luckily another recruiter offered me that was pending for 15 days. But that time was tough.
Not once, not twice, but thrice within 10 years of service.
Key is to test your worth in tough times ahead. If you are relaxed today, you will for sure lose tomorrow’s growth.
First instance: work was slow and not of my domain. I was already getting double hikes a year, upwards of 15%. Comfort zone was feeling good. Then hit covid and I had to move to native, I couldn’t switch. Finally I decoded to resign on 28th of march just so as to not get another increment due within next 3 days. I had to save myself from high salaries, believe it or not. I resigned and got the offer from two companies on 5th april. Later a few more and then didn’t give much interviews. Joined the best comp known at that time.
Second instance, the work was not good, team and culture was equally shocker. The hiring mngr got promoted and that made me an extra player, with some team who didn’t interview me. Initial few months they didn’t give me any KT or work, but later suddenly expected me to go all out and solve their complex architectural issues, even though I was hired as senior. I had to put the paper. Thy Asked me to work as a support. I wanted dev role only. So rejctd and I knew it was only wise to evict myself. I put the paper and was gracefully released This wasn’t even 6mo of me joining this org. Friends help in such scenarios
Third time, put the paper down in dec. I was expert at this by this time 🤣 Wasted whole dec and didnt update even naukri profile or CV.
Around 20th of Jan, got a wake up sid call from a friend. Started updating naukri and cv. Was ready for a home sitting and then prepare for good company which was ofcourse wrong idea. Without offer, this time pressure was a little high. My lifestyle and spending habits helped me, and less loans means I was atleast stress free in this regard.
Was not serious enough and preparing for interview very casually. Dont ever make this mistake. Take things seriously and dont procrastinate in this regard. God has been with me and I am a generally positive guy knowing my roots, plus🤑 has not spoilt me.
Updated naukri but made a mistake to tell recruiters that I am not on NP. They didn’t take me seriously. Now comes 3rd Feb, pressure mounting and no offer. This is time when I started preparing day and night for the interviews. By 8th I had given 5 6 interviews and was selected on 6th. Here I am with 25 plus intrv and couple of ofrs joining in march. Dont lose hope. Prepare well. Give as many int as u cn and acquire skl.

It all about your will and how confident you are but without offer resign is not approachable from anyone.
It took me almost 4.5 months after resignation (2 months notice period + 2.5 months extra). Actually everyone suggests to resign only after receiving offer and they have best intentions but situation is almost no interviews get scheduled for 2 months notice period interviews started to be scheduled after completing 1.5 months of np. After January situation might have been different as holidays are over now.
I think it depends on various factors, which technology you looking for change, job location preferences, your last package and expected salary, your experience and Skills(Technical+ comunication). So according to me if your package is higher , experience is large, and you have location preferences better to first get an offer. If you already did this, then dont say no to any interview, whether you want to join or not, you need more experience and new questions of interviews that are currently being asked by interviewers. Apply for all big/small companies on each and every platform, ask everyone for reference not once, remind them again and again. And most important start preparing, learn as much as you can, shut all other preferences for time being if you can, focus on just this thing you will get job. Rest is Luck....
Yes. I resigned without any offer in hand and got an offer on 15th day after applying for resignation and still getting calls.
I still am unemployed. I was told to leave after my probation without a notice period or even a compensation. I was totally helpless and still am. I am looking for a job in Bangalore. I am from Aviation background and looking into a desk job but am left with nothing. I dont know what to do!
Good luck. Until you find any job, start riding uber or zepto for 4-5 hours. It will help you to survive.
Yes I did. I have made two jumps so far , I did it on both of them. Reason is 90 days of notice in both firms. It completely depends on skill sets you hold, job market situations, individual's confidence and personal reasons. I could Crack interview only after I entered last 45 days of notice.
You May or May be NOT...read on!
It look close to 6 months to land another job. Our vertical with over 100 folks lost jobs including myself due to org restructuring. Out of 6 months, I could search for job only 2 months effectively - the other months went into maintaining my mental health and lot of experiments and learning as I had more than 15+ YOE. The biggest problem was I was not in most trending areas in Product Management such as eCommerce, SaaS, etc., - it took good amount of learning to channelize my skills and experience and make it relevant.
Don't decide to resign based on others experiences - interviewing is unpredictable and subjective - things worked for others won't apply to you. If you want to resign without another offer in hand, please consider the following before doing so:
>Identify the target role(s) you want to switch to
>Analyse your current skills vs. the targeted job(s) and identify gaps if any
>Dedicate 3-6 months for preparation depending on amount of gaps in skills
>Create a resume that would work for most of the open positions - if need arises, you should not spend more than 10 minutes to edit the resume but, never waste hours of time in customizing resume for each targeted job role
>Shortlist the companies you want to apply to and apply through their career sites
>Take a new mobile number and create a psuedo profile in Naukri and test waters with different notice periods for targeted role(s)
>By this time, you'd be able to answer your own question "Have you ever resigned without any offer in hand and after that how much time it took to land your next job?"
+When you are actively applying with your main profile, leverage Naukri, LinkedIn and other job sites.
Same here.. I left my last company without having any offer in hand and still looking for a new job. Almost 8 months now.
I too left the organization without any offer in hand. its been 5 months, not got any, during this time, enhancing new stack.
