Having 6 years of experience I have worked in 2 product based companies and 2 Start ups. I have experience with a couple of scripting languages (Python, Ruby). Currently working as a product developer.

How can I switch to Java + Microservices tech stack?

Seems like I am failing to get an opportunity, they want Java experience if product is based on Java.

Has anyone done this before?

So, I've realised there's a problem with developers, a lot of them are coders, not engineers. And another issue, is that, companies don't really care about their progression as far as I'm aware, so what did you guys do in your own time to transition from being a coder to an engineer?

Has anyone made the transition from sustainability consulting to working in industry? Curious to hear how it went and what role you are. It seems like most corporate sustainability positions are at director or VP level and I’m wondering if that’ll change soon to bring in manager level or below

Recently obtained my aPHR and I’m considering next steps in advancing my career. I am eligible to sit for the SHRM-CP presently and will not be able to sit for a PHR until 09/2023. Any pros/cons with either certification? Should I wait to sit for PHR or go for SHRM-CP now?

Does it make sense to work for a congressman after clerking for a federal judge? I have no idea what I want to do career wise, I've already done the firm thing and I don't want to do that, or at least not yet. Pretty sure I'm going to be staying with the congressman's staff for like a 1-1.5 years.

Does anybody work in a rule for a litigation finance or legal funding company who doesn't hail from a big law firm in background? Basically I have a lot of interest in the area have read a book about it in my free time and was wondering what sort of entry level opportunities I should be seeking.

Career advice?

I'm a relatively junior data engineer (2yoe), the only other engineer (senior) that trained me left about a 6 months ago and I negotiated a nice raise for the extra responsibilities.

My performance reviews have been stellar, but my manager is starting to look to hire a senior to help me deliver projects as we do lack capacity right now.

I feel like I might be missing an opportunity to ask for a promotion and hire a junior instead.

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Joined LTI recently in P3 band. However not allocated any project. Got a call from the resource management team to relocate, which I rejected upfront as I was promised a role in the location I am posted. It has been over 2 weeks since I am in bench. My remit quadrupled+ in a recent re-org with no increase in pay/promotion, my new director is new to the company and was zero help, and I was passed over for recent promotion during the comp cycle.
