Hello guys,
Today I had salary negotiation with Capgemini , they are offering 15 lpa with 10% variable. I feel this is a bit low based on current market standards. I asked for 20 initially, but they are not willing to go beyond 15 without any counter offer. HR flat out rejected 20 saying business will not approve. what is the max they will give after providing counter offer? And if i join around November, when will i be eligible for next appraisal? They are offering c1 band.

I’d first suggest finding out if your company has any specific guidelines or policies regarding job titles, riles, and responsibilities. From my experience the larger and more established the company the more organized they are in this regard.
If you feel like you’ve gone above and beyond your job title and responsibilities and have specific metrics and achievements to point to then yes, ask for a raise. If you’ve been at the same salary and/or job title for a significant amount of time with no change, you may want to have a conversation with your manager to see what you need to focus on to get to the next level. It would be helpful to do some research into where your current salary fits in with the general trend for Product Managers so you know if you are being realistic or out of line.
