I am looking for a new job at the end of a long career. I have excellent experience in IP and Supply Chain Management. I've been fortunate to be in a high-paying position in the Los Angeles area and I rarely see comparable positions posted. The comparable positions at my company are filled by one of the big executive search firms. Any recommendations for finding the rare executive-level legal positions or for landing on the radar of the big executive search firms would be much appreciated!

How many people were successful going from contract to direct hire? I’m super curious and would love tips as moving to a direct hire would be my ideal path. I will just be starting my year contract and want to be able to use you tips and advice as early as possible to get ahead. Thanks in advance. I’m a paralegal with associates degree but accepted a legal assistant position to get at least some experience with google.

I genuinely think I’m on the brink of quitting. Nope, I have no exit plan, no job searches started, not even an updated resume. But I do have three 4:00 AM-ers in the last 8 days, partners telling me to *increase* my hours, and anxiety that’s so high I can barely eat or sleep. I’m a junior litigation lawyer based in Windsor looking to lateral to corporate big law. I have been doing commercial litigation, tax litigation, and tax planning. I’ve done corporate reorganization, corporate structuring, rollovers so corporate would not be completely new to me. I did a solicitor rotation during articling and was involved with several m&a deals. Has anyone managed to make the jump from litigation in Windsor to Toronto big law corporate?
