I have a CTC of 25 lpa and received a one time bonus of 2 lpa, it is being taxed at flat 30%, received only 1.4 lacs.

I wanted to seek your advice on saving tax. Should we hire a CA to help us save taxes?

I only want to opt for legal means and have already exhausted all deductions/exemptions.

Still I'm paying 4+ lac income tax on CTC of 25 lpa.

This annual appraisal I have got a good % of appraisal increment on my salary but I was not promoted to a senior developer (although I have been mentoring a junior dev in my team and been part of building the project by implementing new technologies and tweaks) and my total YoE is 3.5+ years. Hey all, I’ve recently joined EY consulting from another Big 4 and have noticed there’s no discipline (at least in my team) around codes and charging time. People either charge a standard 7 hrs or some will charge time spent on internal activities to their client code.

I was told that “the last person to charge their actual hours worked was promptly booted off the project”.

1) Is this a general cultural point accross all Consulting teams? Will challengin this get me in trouble?

I recieved a joining bonus of 1 lakh from my previous employer in last fiscal year which was taxed.

If my company is deducting tax on reimbursements for example relocation, flight travel, mobile usage, etc. Then how to show in tax filing? bcoz as per my understanding it should not be taxable as I am using my money and company is refunding and no extra income. It's like I have already paid once and while refunding company again deducting. Please guide on this issue.
