Hi fishes,
I am planning a switch so was going through some salary data for a software engineer. My ex-senior manager recommended me a website: Growceed.com which helped me a lot in getting clarification about a lot of things but I am in doubt whether the average salaries of software engineer mentioned on Growceed.com really that much in top MNC companies.

Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

Probably not the answer you’re hoping for but apply through referrals, ideally from someone who knows you personally. Referrals often are submitted via a separate process and are more likely to get a phone screen. At many companies the referrer can also identify the hiring manager. If the referrer knows you personally, they may be willing to directly contact the hiring manager in addition to submitting the referral in the system.
A former coworker referred me to my current job. He was able to look in the internal career portal and see the hiring manager and recruiter. (Neither was posted publicly or listed in the referral portal.) I had to beat out a qualified internal candidate to get this cushy, high paying role, and I doubt I would have been gotten the same level of interest or had enough context to clearly articulate how my experience applied if I didn’t have someone advocating for me.
It is so true! I got my last contract role via my old boss. I knew it was temporary since they were laying off. However my role before this one came from an agency which placed me in my last two perm roles which also started out as freelance. Having those advocates push you ahead of 200 resumes. Prior coworkers as well!
Yes, subscribe to LinkedIn Premium. On most occasions, you’ll be able to see the job poster, number of applicants, where you rank among them, and you can also message the job poster. #myopinion.
Prob better off just applying. Your resume will automatically go to the recruiter who posted the job. They might ignore messages after posting a role.
