Hello fishes. My husband is working in mechanical field. He is having 11+ years of experience. But right now there is no much scope for his field. He is not getting any good job though he is trying from few years. He is earning very less. He wants to switch to IT. Which course can he do and how to get into IT? I am into data analytics. Can he do some data science course and try?

I know people with mechanical engineering doing good job in R&D departments, can he try to get into R&D department rather than coming to IT after 11 yrs. But there is scope in IT as well for manager role, my manager had 15 yrs of experience in Government job then he switched to IT.

like

Great. But how did he switch?

Experience issue... But he can try his hand in designing and then Tata Technologies like companies have scope... Check it out

like

Yes...

It's difficult as he as no experience in it, do try a,IT requires minimum 2yr experience to get a good salary

like

Salary is not a concern right now. He just needs to get into IT. Then he can switch after few years and get good hike right

Do some course and side projects. Then he can try it out at startups.

like

He can aim for PMP certification. My friend made the transition from mechanical field to project management with the help of that certification

like

Yes. Even within the IT industry, you have manufacturing, automotive, transportation and other verticals. He can enter those verticals of an IT firm with a PMP certification. His domain knowledge from the industry and the PMP certification should help him clear the interviews. Rest he can learn on the job.

Should I be happy with just receiving my 3rd promotion in less than 2.5 years to Senior Consultant? Company growing fast, tenured employees getting burnt out/leaving and room opened up to move up quickly. Change in leadership recently as well. I'm an Indian holding bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering from India and master of international marketing degree from a United States. Overall, I have 7+ years of work experience in sales and marketing. IELTS 6.5 now I wish to migrate into Canada with the PR. Since lot of candidates are in the pool, sadly it would take me nearly 12 to 18 months to get my Canadian PR. Can some one give me leads of job opening which is available back there in Canada to start my career.

Many suggested to start as a financial analyst career path.
Your honest suggestions please ???

This might be a long shot but I'm looking for a volunteer who is trying to break into a federal career. Maybe a transitioning veteran, recent grad, or career-changer.

I'm pursuing my master career coaching cert and need to do a recorded 45-minute session. You don't have to be identified if you don't want to.

The single session is all I'm asking but could certainly turn into a longer lasting coaching relationship (at no cost), if you like.
